Ässä 1

Water-borne, full-matt non-reflective special dispersion paint for professional use. Specially for surfaces subject to hard wear. With Nordic Swan ecolabel.

Recommended for ceilings and walls in dry interior premises. Use for new or previously treated concrete, plaster, filler-treated, plasterboard, chipboard and wood fiberboard surfaces. Fulfils the emission and VOC content requirements of LEED v4 (according to the method accepted for investments realized outside USA) and BREEAM classification system.

For applications, where ceiling paint and primer are required to provide excellent adhesion and surfaces may be subjected to hard mechanical stress. E.g. kitchens, classrooms, patient rooms, stairwells and public spaces. Also suitable for painting of zinc-coated air conditioning ducts.

Theoretical coverage: 8-11 m²/l. Practical coverage depends on the application method, conditions, shape and roughness of the surface to be treated.

The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature at least +10°C and the relative humidity of the air below 80%.

Unpainted surfaces: Clean the new surfaces by removing any dirt and dust. Fill the surfaces with a suitable Tikkurila Presto or Prestonit filler, if needed, and sand the dried surface. Remove the sanding dust. Previously painted surfaces: Wash the surfaces with diluted Maalipesu detergent and rinse carefully with water. Sand the hard, glossy painted surfaces non-glossy. Remove the sanding dust. Fill the cracks and holes with a suitable Tikkurila Presto or Prestonit filler and sand the dried surface. Remove the sanding dust.

First coat:

Stir Ässä 1 well before use and thin with water, if necessary. Apply 1-2 times with a roller, spray or brush.

Maintenance Painting:

Surfaces painted with Ässä 1 can be maintenance painted with the same or similar water-borne paint. See Pretreatment.

If product is used as topcoat, surfaces can be cleaned after approx. 1 month from treating the surface, at the earliest. The surfaces are cleaned with a dry brush or dust towel. Dirty surfaces are cleaned with a damp cleaning tool moistened in a neutral (pH 6-8) washing solution. The surface may not remain wet after cleaning. Follow the dilution instructions given by the detergent manufacturer when mixing the cleaning solution. The product achieves its final hardness and durability after one month under normal conditions, and therefore the surfaces must be handled with care during this time. If the surfaces need to be cleaned soon after finishing, clean them lightly with a dry or damp cleaning cloth.
