Matt
A one-component water-borne, functional, noise-damping coating for airless application.
Product Features
Suitable to be used on interior and sheltered outdoors surfaces only. Excellent acoustic damping and vibration absorbing properties. Forms a flexible and porous coating. Prevents condensation.Complies with the requirements of EN13501-1, class A2-s1d0. Noise reduction: Tan Delta (combined) 0,116 (VTT-CR-00259-15, test report available upon request).
Recommended Uses
Recommended to be used on the lower surfaces of steel roofing sheets, on metal surfaces in vehicles and railway cars, ventilation ducts and other metal surfaces where vibration and noise problem occurs.
Spreading rate is affected by the painting method and conditions, both the shape of the structure to be painted and the surface quality. Recommended film thicknesses: Dry 450 µm (600 g/m²), wet 900 µm (1200 g/m²) – theoretical coverage 1,1 m²/l Dry 1359 µm (1800 g/ m²), wet 2700 µm (3600 g/m²) – theoretical coverage 0,4 m²/l

Storage
Must be protected from frost. Store in a dry and cool place, protected from sunlight. Close the can carefully for the next use. The opened container does not withstand long-term storage.
All surfaces must be dry before painting. The temperature of the ambient air and surface should not fall below +10ºC and the relative humidity of the air should be under 80% during application and drying. The surface temperature of the surface should remain at least 3ºC above the dew point. The temperature of paint itself should be above +15°C for proper application. Good ventilation is required in confined areas during application and drying.
Surface preparation
Oil, grease, salts and dirt are removed by appropriate means. (ISO 12944-4) Aluminium surfaces: Sweep blast-clean with mineral abrasives (SaS) to an even roughness. The blasting material should be non-metallic. (SFS 5873) If sweep blasting is not possible, the surface should be roughened by hand abrading or washed with MAALIPESU CLEANING AGENT detergent. Zinc surfaces: Sweep blast-clean with mineral abrasives (SaS) to an even roughness. For blasting material, use e.g. clean, dry quartz sand. (SFS 5873) If sweep blasting is not possible, the surface should be roughened by hand abrading or washed with MAALIPESU CLEANING AGENT detergent. Primed surfaces: Industrial backing coat steel slim at the back of boards doesn’t need any special priming. Oil, grease, salts and dirt are removed by appropriate means. The priming damages can be fixed by Temaprime EE or Rostex Super. Note the overcoating time of primer. (SFS-EN ISO 12944-4) Stainless steel: Roughen the surface by grinding or sweep blasting. Use non-metallic abrasives.
Painting
First coat:
By airless spray or when not possible by brush or roller. Mix the paint thoroughly before use. The paint can be thinned 0–5% by volume if necessary. Spray nozzle tip 0.035”–0.039” and nozzle pressure 150–180 bar.
Maintenance Painting:
Cannot be painted over by other products, the surface will then lose its special properties.
Cleaning of tools
Remove excess paint from tools and wash with water.
VOC
Acustics contains VOC max. 15g/l. Industrial and professional use only!
Applications
Acoustics is ideal for use on steel roofing sheets, metal surfaces in vehicles and railway cars, ventilation ducts, and other metal surfaces in sports halls or production facilities, where vibration and noise problems occur.
