Product Features

Suitable for asbestos encapsulation when the asbestos cannot be removed.

Recommended Uses

AsbestGuard is suitable for interior treatment of asbestos-cement or asbestos-sprayed concrete surfaces, acoustic panels, ventilation insulation and pipes. Read the application instructions carefully before starting the painting work. When treating a substrate containing asbestos, the law no. 684/2015 and Council of State decision no. 798/2015 on asbestos work must be followed.

Surface preparation

Always investigate the condition of the asbestos-treated substrate or asbestos-cement. Avoid encapsulation of asbestos substrates in bad conditions and where the substrate is exposed to mechanical wear. The law no. 684/2015 and Council of State decision no. 798/2015 on asbestos work must be followed.

Painting

First coat:

Sanitation - sealing of asbestos: After removal of asbestos, vacuum clean all asbestos covered surfaces well. Seal the possible asbestos fibre dust by spraying the surfaces with a thin layer of ProSeal (10m²/l) to seal remaining dust. Asbestos-sprayed surfaces - sealing of asbestos: Spray the surface with a thin layer of ProSeal (5m²/l) to seal remaining dust. Encapsulate the surface by applying AsbestGuard 2 times by airless spray 0,5-1m²/l ( spreading amount 1-2kg/m²) for even and seamless surfaces. For coarse surface, consumption should be increased. Asbestos-cement boards -encapsulating: Spray the surface with a thin layer of ProSeal (10m²/l) to seal remaining dust. Encapsulate the surface by applying AsbestGuard 1 time by airless spray 1m²/l (or 1 kg/m²). Conditioned air ducts - Encaps insulation surfaces: Spray the surface with a thin layer of ProSeal (10m²/l) to seal remaining dust. Encapsulate the surface by applying AsbestGuard 2 times by airless spray 0,5-1m²/l ( spreading amount 1-2kg/m²) for even and seamless surfaces. Mix the product well before use. The product is ready to use and should not be diluted.

Maintenance Instructions

Avoid high-pressure cleaning.

Applications

AsbestGuard is applied by airless spray, brush, or roller. ProSeal primer can be used for binding asbestos fibers remaining after asbestos removal.
