Nova 12

Water-borne, solvent-free dispersion paint for professional interior painting. Semi-matte interior paint with Nordic eco-label.

Suitable for first application and maintenance painting of concrete, plaster, filler, plasterboard, chipboard, and wood fiberboard surfaces according to instructions. Product can be used in LEED, BREEAM certified buildings and Swan ecolabelled buildings.

Wall and ceiling surfaces in dry interior spaces; e.g. living spaces, kitchens, office and light use public spaces.

Theoretical coverage 8-11m2/l. Practical coverage depends on the application method, conditions, absorbency and roughness of the surface to be treated.

Waterborne

Must be protected from frost. Store in a dry and cool place, protected from sunlight. Tinted paint or opened container does not withstand long-term storage. Close the can carefully for the next use.

The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature at least +10°C and the relative humidity of the air below 80%.

Unpainted surfaces: Remove dirt and dust from the surfaces. If necessary, fill the surfaces with a suitable Tikkurila Presto or Prestonit filler and sand the dried surface. Remove the sanding dust. Prime with Nova 2 or Ykköspohja. Previously painted surfaces: Wash the surfaces with Maalipesu detergent. Sand the painted surfaces non-glossy. Remove the sanding dust. Fill the cracks and holes with a suitable Tikkurila Presto or Prestonit filler and sand the dried surface. Remove the sanding dust. Prime unpainted surfaces with Nova 2 or Ykköspohja.

First coat:

Stir Nova 12 well before use and thin with water, if necessary. Apply 1-2 times with a roller, spray or brush.

Maintenance Painting:

Surfaces painted with Nova 12 can be maintenance painted with the same or similar water-borne paint. See Pretreatment.

If needed, after approx. 1 month from treating the surface, at the earliest. Surfaces are cleaned with a damp cleaning tool moistened in a neutral (pH 6-8) washing solution. Very dirty surfaces are cleaned with a weakly alkaline (pH 8-10) washing solution. The surface may not remain wet after cleaning. Follow the dilution instructions given by the detergent manufacturer when mixing the cleaning solution. The product achieves its final hardness and durability after one month under normal conditions, and therefore the surfaces must be handled with care during this time. If the surfaces need to be cleaned soon after finishing, clean them gently with a damp cleaning cloth.
