Painted dining room wall

How to paint textured wall

Blogger Sanna Laurila created a cozy atmosphere in the dining hall in the 1850s wing of her mansion using two shades of Tunto Hieno.

A suitable gray-brown shade was found!

You can use Tunto Hieno to create unique effect surfaces and the feel of a fine plastered texture on interior walls. By combining application methods and colors, the possibilities of a Tunto surface are endless.

"I couldn't be happier with the result! It took a long time to find the right gray-brown shade, but it was worth it in the end. This shade comes alive as the light changes during the day. The coarseness of Tunto paint also adds a beautiful depth to the surface." - Sanna from the Local Artisan blog

Putting the idea into practice

Tunto Hieno fine textured finish dries quickly, so you can complete your project in just one day.

Painting the wall with an effect paint

Do the preparation work good
1. PREPARATIONS

Wipe the wall surface before beginning. If the wall is clearly dirty, clean the surface using Tikkurila Maalipesu cleaning agent following the instructions on the label. Leave to dry. Outline the area you are going to paint using masking tape.

Stir the paint before use
2. STIR

Stir the Tunto Hieno textured finish coatings.

Spread using a spatula
3. APPLY WITH A TROWEL

The light textured finish on the lower part of the wall in shade G497 Steam was created by coarsely applying Tunto Hieno using a steel trowel.

Finish with a brush
4. APPLY WITH A BRUSH

The vivid surface on the upper part of the wall was achieved using vertical brush strokes over rolled-on paint. The shade is V484 Driftwood.
