Calming down, traditional crafts, nature and home. The trends sweeping the world inspired the 2018 color jury members: trend analyst Nina Bruun, Tikkurila design manager Marika Raike and creative designer Päivi Häikiö. "Our family's love for France is reflected in the interior design. The new Minerals color palette provided lovely earthy tones and sophisticated backdrops for the interior. The combination of the dining area and kitchen underwent the biggest change. All walls, connecting doors, baseboards and built-in cupboards were painted with Y487 Piazza. Piazza is a warm gray that still maintains a sense of space. A generous white border was left at the ceiling to add a sense of height."

"The space had previously had light gray walls, but they felt too cold and pale. The idea for using darker tones came from a recent trip to Italy, where I was particularly drawn to the reddish tones and stone and marble surfaces that are widely used in Italy. The strong but stylish V484 Ajopuu and Y500 Wrought Iron from the Minerals color collection were selected for the workstation corner."
Cabinet painted with M425 Beetroot brings a subdued contrast to the space.
