How to lacquer wooden floor

1. Preparations

1. Clear the floor. Collect all the tools necessary for the project. 
2. Take off floor trim or cover it with masking tape.

2. Cleaning

1. Clean dusts and any dirt from floor. 
2. For previously lacquered floor, wash the floor with suitable detergent and let dry. 

3. Sanding

Sand the surface with sandpaper. For lager areas use sanding machine. Remove sanding dust and wipe the surface clean. 

4. Varnishing wooden floor with Pontti Floor Lacquer

1. Sire the lacquer before use. Use paint brush to paint the edges of floor. 
2. Apply lacquer to wooden floor boards lengthwise, few boards at a time. Lacquer all surfaces at once. 
3. Leave to dry according to product instructions. Sand the dried floor surface and wipe clean before second layer lacquer. 
4. Lacquer the second layer with same technique. For more durable surface add the third layer. 
5. Lacquered floor is ready to use on the following day.
