Fontecoat RM 50

A water-borne epoxy paint specially modified for submersible surfaces.

• Suitable for underwater and underground use. The product protects equipment operating under immersion from the effects of corrosion. This high-performance solution maintains long service lives of the end product. • Withstands waste/grey water in wide pH value range of 6-9. Fontecoat RM 50 provides long-term asset protection and decreased maintenance costs for wastewater treatment facilities. • Excellent sag resistance, thus enabling a thick paint film to be formed with one application. The paint levels evenly and is easy to apply on complex structures. Fontecoat RM 50 enables you to benefit from short implementation times, which helps to reduce overall project costs. • Can be primed with solvent-borne epoxy making the product more universal than conventional water-borne topcoats. • Can be used on steel structures in wet environment, e.g. inside pontoons, ballast-water tanks and ship hulls. Other usage areas are steel constructions in underground and underwater applications and surfaces exposed to splashing. Not suitable for swimming pools.

• Recommended for pumps, pontoons and other steelwork and equipment.

Practical coverage depends on the application method, painting conditions and the shape and roughness of the surface to be coated. Note! The painting work should be performed and supervised according to 12944-7 if not otherwise stated in the respective technical data sheet. Excessive film thickness may result e.g. in cracking, sagging, prolonged drying time, soft film, less chemical resistance, gloss deviation, adhesion and intercoat functionality. In case the product is used otherwise than stated in the standard a written approval from Tikkurila is required.
