A new development of terraced houses was constructed close to the sea in the picturesque Brandholmen area in Nyköping, Sweden. The area is located close to the harbor and is growing fast, especially among families with children.
The area features two different types of buildings. The atrium houses are in two levels with small garden at the front and a bigger private garden at the back, while the city houses are located back close to the road but have wonderful garden at the front. They also feature a sun terrace on the third floor with beautiful sea views.
Fast and cost-effective construction with high-tech solutions
A total of 34 houses were built for the area in Nyköping by Derome Group. Derome Group specializes in the construction of wooden houses using modern and high-tech solutions based on ready made flat-pack, making the construction fast and cost-effective.
Long maintenance interval with Pinja Color Plus
The painting of ready-made modules was done by Målerimaskinen Väst AB, a professional with a strong track record in wood treatment. Wooden claddings stained with Pinja Color Plus, a water-borne tintable semi-transparent wood stain, were used for the façades of the houses as well as for the carports.
Pinja Color Plus has twice as long maintenance interval compared to conventional wood stains. The binder is based on alkyd-modified acrylate. Pinja Color Plus contains a light stabilizer and effective fungicides. Thanks to the transparent Super Colour pigments, Pinja Color Plus offers more intensive colours with superior resistance to sunlight.
“The main challenge in this project was to achieve the needed colours,” says Mikael Andersson, Product Manager, Industrial Wood, Tikkurila AB, Sweden. We created several samples with different colours, and in the end two of them were selected for the project.”
