"From One Professional to Another" contest. FAQ
1. Who can participate in the contest?
Qualified interior design specialists and individuals working in this field are invited to participate in the contest: interior designers, decorators, home stagers, interior stylists, renovation professionals, and painters.
2. From which countries are applications accepted?
Professionals from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Mongolia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Georgia are eligible to participate in the contest.
3. Can I participate if I work in a team/studio?
Yes, both individual designers and teams \ studios are eligible to participate in the contest. The application must include a project manager or team representative.
4. Is it possible to submit multiple projects?
Yes, participants may submit multiple completed projects, as long as each one meets the contests criteria.
5. Is there a limit on the designer's professional experience?
There is no limit on the number of years of experience a participant can have. The main requirement is that they must be professionally active in interior design and that their project meets the contest requirements.
6. Is there a fee to participate in the contest?
Participation in the contest is free.
7. What objects are accepted for participation in the contest?
Completed projects are accepted for participation in two categories: “Design project for a residential property” and “Design project for a commercial property”.
8. Does the project have to be completed or can I submit a concept?
Only completed projects will be accepted for participation.
9. Within what period should the project be implemented?
The project must be implemented between February 25, 2026 and June 1, 2027 inclusive.
10. Is it possible to submit a project that has already participated in other competitions?
Yes, if the project meets all the competition requirements, it can be submitted for participation.
11. What volume of use of Tikkurila products is required?
The project must use Tikkurila products in a significant part of the interior, so that the use of the brand's colors and materials is conceptually and visually justified.
12. Is it possible to use several brand products in one project?
Yes. The use of multiple Tikkurila products to achieving different aims within a single project is permitted and encouraged.
13. How is possible to confirm that Tikkurila products were used in the project?
To confirm the use of Tikkurila products in the project, its necessary to indicate the name and volume of Tikkurila paint used in the technical specifications sent to the official email address of the contest, attach photographs of receipts confirming purchase, as well as photographs of Tikkurila paint on site.
14. In what language should the application be completed?
The application must be completed in one of the contest's official languages: Russian or English.
15. Is it possible to edit an application after it has been submitted?
After applying, changes may be made by an agreement with the organizer before the deadline for accepting works.
16. What should I do if I encounter technical difficulties while submitting?
If you encounter any technical difficulties when submitting your application, please contact the organizer at the official competition email address: TLA-info.kz@ppg.com.
17. What criteria are used to evaluate projects?
Projects are evaluated based on the following criteria:
– Design concept;
– Color combination/selection;
– Eco-friendly concept;
– Selection of Tikkurila paint;
– Copyright compliance.
18. Who are the jury members?
A special expert jury consisting of PPG representatives will be formed to choose the winners of the contest.
19. How many winners will be chosen?
Three winners will be selected based on the results of the competition and will receive the Grand Prize.
20. When and how will the results be announced?
The competition results will be published on the Tikkurila.com website after June 20, 2027, and each winner will be notified by the organizer additionally.
21. What exactly is included in a trip to Finland (flight, accommodation, meals)?
The Grand Prize includes a flight to Finland, an accommodation, a visit to Tikkurila's production facility in Vantaa, and a visit to Helsinki Design Week 2027.
22. Will the organizer assist the winners in obtaining a Schengen visa?
The contest organizer will aid and advice in obtaining a Schengen visa (assistance and guidance in completing the necessary documents, without guaranteeing a positive decision from the visa center) – only for citizens of Kazakhstan. Citizens of other countries participating in the contest will obtain their own Schengen visa.
23. Is it possible to travel with an accompanying person?
The grand prize—a trip to Finland—will be awarded to three winners. The participation of accompanying persons is discussed separately and is not included in the main prize package.
24. Is it possible to receive money instead of a trip?
Payment of a cash equivalent in lieu of travel is not provided.
25. What are the dates for the trip to Finland?
The trip dates are being set by the organizer in accordance with the Helsinki Design Week 2027 program, tentatively in September 2027.
26. What happens if the winner is unable to travel?
If the winner cancels their trip, the prize may be awarded to a reserve winner at the organizer's discretion.
27. Who retains the copyright to the project?
Copyright to the project is retained by the participant.
28. Can a brand use project material in its communications?
By applying, the participant grants the organizer the right to use the submitted materials for communications and marketing purposes, with attribution.
29. Can I opt out of public coverage of my project?
Participation in the contest implies consent to the publication of my project if I reach the finals or win.
