Alfablock

Alkali-resistant water-borne protective substance that is based on the combination of silane and siloxane. Prevents the capillary penetration of precipitation and splash water into the structure. Lets humidity escape as vapor from inside the structure. Reduces the risk of frost damage and the build-up of salt on the structure’s surface.

For most mineral materials, such as brick, calcium-silicate brick, aerated concrete, concrete, exposed-aggregate concrete, rendered and mineral facade board surfaces.

Houses, commercial buildings, industrial, warehouse etc facades, roof tiles and pavings.

3-5 m²/l depending on the substrate.

Must be protected from frost. Should not be stored in temperature above +30°C.

The surface to be treated must be dry. The minimum ambient temperature for use of the product is +5 ºC and maximum relative air humidity 80%.

The surface must be sufficiently dried and hardened before the dust-binding treatment. Clean the surfaces of any dirt, dust and salt. Surfaces with mold, moss etc. are cleaned with Tikkurila Homeenpoisto (Mold Removal) in accordance with the instructions.

First coat:

Aftablock is spread evenly on the surface to be treated ‘wet-to-wet’ (2-3 consequent applications). NOTE! Cover the windows and other surfaces not to be treated before the application. Remove any splashes immediately from the windows.

Maintenance Painting:

The maintenance treatment for a surface treated with Alfablock is Alfablock. The substrate must be adequately water absorbing and the possible earlier treatments can have an effect on the success of the treatment.

Clean tools immediately after use with water and soap.

The dirty surface can be washed with a pressure washer at the earliest one month after the treatment, without a detergent. For removing algae and mold, use Tikkurila Homeenpoisto and rinse thoroughly according to instructions. The surface must be treated again always after mold removal.
