Nova 2

Waterborne, solvent-free, full matt dispersion paint for professional priming and painting of ceilings.

For painting of concrete, plaster, filler, plasterboard, chipboard and wood fiberboard surfaces according to instructions. Also suitable for painting of zinc-coated air conditioning ducts. Product can be used in LEED, BREEAM certified buildings and Swan ecolabelled buildings.

Walls and ceilings in dry interior premises.

Theoretical coverage 7-11m2/l. Practical coverage depends on the application method, conditions, absorbency and roughness of the surface to be treated.

Waterborne

Must be protected from frost. Store in a dry and cool place, protected from sunlight. Tinted paint or opened container does not withstand long-term storage. Close the can carefully for the next use.

The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature at least +5°C and the relative humidity of the air below 80%.

Unpainted surfaces: Remove dirt and dust from the surfaces. If necessary, fill the surfaces with a suitable Tikkurila Presto or Prestonit filler and sand the dried surface. Remove the sanding dust. Previously painted surfaces: Wash the surfaces with diluted Maalipesu detergent. Fill the cracks and holes with a suitable Tikkurila Presto or Prestonit filler and sand the dried surface. Remove the sanding dust.

First coat:

Stir Nova 2 well before use and thin with water, if necessary. Apply 1-2 times with a roller, spray or brush.

Maintenance Painting:

Surfaces painted with Nova 2 can be maintenance painted with the same or similar water-borne paint. See Pretreatment.

Remove excess paint from tools and wash with water. Tikkurila Pensselipesu is recommended for removal of paint that has hardened to a certain extent.

Cleaning approx. 1 month after painting at the earliest, if needed. The surfaces are dry cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, soft brush or dust towel. Cleaning with a damp cloth might leave a mark on the surface. The product achieves its final hardness and durability after one month under normal conditions, and therefore the surfaces must be handled with care during this time. If the surfaces need to be cleaned soon after finishing, dry clean them with a vacuum cleaner, soft brush or a dust towel.
