Application Method

spraying, brush, roller

Storage

At a negative air temperature, it is recommended that the temperature of the paint itself is not lower than 10 °C, and the substrate should not contain ice and frost. Do not work under direct sunlight, strong wind and precipitation.

Surface preparation

Unpainted surfaces: Clean the unpainted surfaces of any dirt, dust and salt. New concrete surfaces can be painted after one heating season, new plastered surfaces - after 1-2 months, new fiber cement slabs - after 6 months. Smooth surfaces must always be treated mechanically by sandblasting or steel brush to create a suitable profile for painting. Grinding or weak concrete surfaces should be removed by sandblasting or hydro-sandblasting machine or steel brush. Level off the surface defects with the appropriate repair mortar. In case of a fungus or mold infection, treat it with a sanitizing agent, following the appropriate instructions. Before application, the surface should be primed with Tikkurila Prof facade paint, thinned on 10% by volume with Tikkurila Prof facade Thinner. Porous and absorbent surfaces should be primed with Tikkurila Prof facade paint, thinned with Tikkurila Prof facade Thinner by no more than 20% of the volume of the paint. Previously painted surface: Remove any flaking, chalky and poorly adhering paint and plaster mechanically by sandblasting or steel brush. Сheck the condition of the seams of concrete elements, repare the defects. Possible cracks in the reinforced concrete structure should be uncovered by a scraping or grinding machine with a disk and flange. Clear the exposed metal from rust, protect it with anti-corrosion primer Tikkurila Rostex Super. In case of a fungus or mold infection, treat it with a sanitizing agent, following the appropriate instructions. Wash the surface with detergent, then clean thoroughly with water. Level off the surface defects with the appropriate repair mortar.

Painting

First coat:

Stir the paint well before use. Apply the paint in 2 layers. If necessary, thinning on 10% by volume with Tikkurila Prof facade Thinner. For finish coat the paint should not be thinned. Always paint a uniform area without interruptions by the “wet on wet” method, ending the painting at the corners, balcony lines or other such areas of the structure.

Maintenance Painting:

Repair painting is done with the same paint or paint of the same type. See the point "Preliminary preparation".

Cleaning of tools

Remove excess paint from the tool, then immediately cleaned with white spirit 1050 or detergent for brushes Tikkurila Penssellipesu.

Maintenance Instructions

If needed, after approx. 1 month from surface treatment, not the earliest. Clean the surfaces with water under pressure without the use of detergents. For removing algae and mold, use Tikkurila Homeenpoisto and rinse thoroughly according to instructions. NOTE! Surfaces must always be retreated after mold removal.
