Description

Silicone-modified acrylic facade paint with high vapor permeability.

Product Features

For painting the facades of residential, commercial, industrial, storage and other premises for concrete, plaster, fiber cement slabs and silicate bricks.

Recommended Uses

For painting the facades of residential, commercial, industrial, storage and other premises for concret, plaster, fiber cement slabs and silicate bricks. The paint has a high vapor permeability. Unique properties of the paint protect your facade for many years from atmospheric influences and industrial pollution. Suitable for finishing previously painted solid surfaces, except for lime, silicate paints and organic elastic coatings.

Coverage

Coverage for 1 layer 6-8 m²/l on smooth non-absorbent surface; 4-6 m²/l on rough absorbent surface. Coverage is affected by the roughness and porosity of the surface as well as the application method and conditions.

Thinner

Waterborne

Application Method

spraying, brush, roller

Storage

Application Conditions

The surface to be painted must be dry and clean , the temperature at least 10°C and the relative humidity of the air not more than 80%. Do not paint in hot weather, strong wind, direct sunlight or rain.

Surface preparation

Unpainted surfaces: Clean the unpainted surfaces of any dirt, dust and salt. New concrete surfaces can be painted after one heating season, new plastered surfaces - after 1-2 months, new fiber cement slabs - after 6 months. Smooth, glassy concrete surfaces must always be treated mechanically to create an appropriate surface profile and remove any laitance. Strongly grinding and not strong surfaces should be cleared to a strong base mechanically or by washing with water under pressure. Level off the surface defects with the appropriate repair mortar. In case of a fungus or mold infection, treat it with a sanitizing agent, following the appropriate instructions. Before application, the surface should be primed with Tikkurila Prof Base or Tikkurila Euro Primer. Durable concrete does not require priming. Previously painted surface: Remove any flaking, chalky and poorly adhering paint coats (e.g. wire brush, pressure washing with hot water or wet sand-blasting). Check the condition of the seams of concrete elements, repare the defects. Possible cracks in the reinforced concrete structure should be uncovered by a scraping or grinding machine with a disk and flange. Clear the exposed metal from rust, protect it with anti-corrosion paint. In case of a fungus or mold infection, treat it with a sanitizing agent, following the appropriate instructions. Wash the surface with detergent, then clean thoroughly with water. Level off the surface defects with the appropriate repair mortar. Strongly grinding, absorbent and not strong surfaces should be cleared to a strong base. Before application, the surface should be primed with Tikkurila Prof Base or Tikkurila Euro Primer.

Painting

First coat:

Stir the paint well before use. Apply the paint in 2 layers. If the surface is partially patched, to achieve the optimum hiding power, if necessary, apply the paint in 3 layers, observing the recommended coverage. If necessary, thinning with water no more than 10% by volume for the first layer and no more than 5% by volume for finish layer. Always paint a uniform area without interruptions, ending the painting at the corners, balcony lines or other such areas of the structure. When using saturated shades or in the case of early rains, shiny areas formed by auxiliary substances may appear on the surface of the coating. In case of violation of technology, the appearance of whitish vapors on the surface is possible. Water-soluble surfactants can be removed by water or independently after several rains. On the quality of the dried coating this will not have a negative effect.

Maintenance Painting:

Repair painting is done with the same paint or paint of the same type (acrylic or silicone paint on acrylate basis). See the point "Preliminary preparation".

Cleaning of tools

Clean tools with water. Remove lightly hardened paint with detergent Tikkurila Pensselipesu.

Maintenance Instructions

If needed, after approx. 1 month from surface treatment, not the earliest. Clean the surfaces with water under pressure without the use of detergents. For removing algae and mold, use Tikkurila Homeenpoisto and rinse thoroughly according to instructions. NOTE! Surfaces must always be retreated after mold removal.
