brush, roller, spraying
The surface to be painted must be dry, the ambient temperature at least +5 °C and the relative humidity of air below 80%.
Unpainted surfaces: Remove dirt and dust from the surfaces. If necessary, fill the surfaces with a suitable Tikkurila Presto or Prestonit filler and sand the dried surface. Remove the sanding dust. Previously painted surfaces: Wash the surfaces with diluted Maalipesu detergent and rinse carefully with water. Sand the hard, glossy painted surfaces non-glossy. Remove the sanding dust. Fill the cracks and holes with a suitable Tikkurila Presto or Prestonit filler and sand the dried surface. Remove the sanding dust.
Stir Ykköspohja well before use and thin with water, if necessary. Apply 1–2 coats by roller, spray or brush.
Surfaces painted with Ykköspohja can be painted with the same or similar water-borne paint. See pre-treatment.
If needed, approx. one month after surface treatment at the earliest. The surfaces are preferably dry-cleaned by using a vacuum cleaner, soft brush or dust cloth. Damp cleaning can leave marks on the surface, especially on dark shades. After surface treatment, surfaces must be handled with care for a few weeks, as the product will reach its final hardness and durability after about a month under normal conditions. If a surface needs to be cleaned soon after the surface treatment, preferably dry-clean it by using a vacuum cleaner, soft brush or dust cloth.
