Valtti Plus Pohjuste

A clear priming oil used to protect wooden surfaces outdoors. Penetrates easily into the wood fibres, providing very good protection against water absorption even on joints and end wood. Reduces the risk of cracking of wood and paint layers. High durability with Tikkurila exterior wood stain or paint.

Suitable for sawn and planed timber, logs, thermally treated and impregnated wood before surface treatment in exterior use.

All wooden structures to be treated with wood stains or paints (except surfaces to be treated with wood oils and barn-red paints). Woodwork outside. Can be used on wood components above grounds. Not for use on wood in direct soil or water contact. Should always be used together with a wood stain or a paint.

Sawn wood: 6-8 m²/litre per coat. Smooth wood: 8-12 m²/litre per coat.

The surface to be painted must be dry. The temperature of the air must be at least +5 °C during treatment and drying, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %. Do not use the product in the rain or if rain is expected in the next 24 hours.

Remove dirt, mold and any loose material from the surface to be treated. Wash down surfaces affected by dirt and mold with Tikkurila Mould Removal (Homeenpoisto) according to directions of use. Protect other surfaces and plants from splashes of primer. Cover all water containers prior to treatment.

First coat:

Treat wood surfaces with Valtti Plus Pohjuste in as early construction phase as possible. Apply the priming oil by brush or spray. Stir before use. Handle the product in a well-ventilated place. Treat the end surfaces of the wood with special care. Apply the final surface treatment, for example by painting, as soon as possible, however after 24 hours at the earliest. If the surface treatment is anyhow delayed, prime the surfaces again. The finished surface has to be kept in good condition.
