Valtti Pohjuste

Colorless, oil-based wood preservative absorbed into substrate. Fr external use on wood surfaces by consumers and professionals. Valtti Pohjuste is absorbed into wood, slowing down the absorption of humidity and the spread of bluestain. This wood preservative product (product group 8) is approved in accordance with the Biocidal Product Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012; permit no. UK-2014-0831/FI-2015-0014. Solvent-based liquid ready for use.

For protection and priming of timber and wooden structures before surface treatment. Suitable for use on logs, sawn and planed timber, thermally treated and impregnated wood in exterior use before surface treatment. Use the product only as wood preservative as described in product data sheet and label. Finishing coats are recommended to be applied as soon as possible, because colorless priming oil does not protect the wood surface from the adverse effects of sunlight.

All wooden structures to be treated with wood stains or paints (except surfaces to be treated with wood oils and barn-red paints). Woodwork outside (use categories 2 and 3). Can be used on wooden parts left above ground that are either exposed to or protected from weather, but are exposed to repeated wetting. Not for use on wood in direct soil or water contact or in marine environment. Not to be used on interior surfaces.

Sawn surfaces 4–5 m²/l. Planed surfaces 10–12 m²/l.

The surface to be treated must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5 °C and the relative humidity of the air below 80% during treatment and drying.

Remove dirt, mold and any loose material from the surface to be treated. If needed, use Mold Removal (Homeenpoisto) according to the directions for it´s use. Protect other surfaces and plants from splashes of Valtti Pohjuste. Cover all water containers prior to treatment.

First coat:

Treat wood surfaces with Valtti Pohjuste in the earliest possible phase of construction. Spread a generous amount of Valtti Pohjuste with a brush. Treat the end grains of the wood with particular care. Do not use the product in the vicinity of food utensils, cutlery and surfaces where food in handled. Wash the hands and other exposed skin before meals and after use. Unprotected persons and animals should be kept out of treated areas for 48 hours or until surfaces are dry. Do not allow the product to enter soil or surface water during the treatment or the drying of the surface. Protect plants and fish ponds before treatment. Apply the final surface treatment as soon as possible, however after 24 hours at the earliest. If the surface treatment is delayed over winter, we recommend a new priming before surface treatment. Use wood preservatives safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
