Intact Primer

Quick drying water-borne universal and adhesion primer for interior use. 

Suitable as a primer and intermediate coat for both new and previously painted surfaces. Intact Primer adheres well to surfaces that require special adhesion, such as melamine, fiberglass, industrially paint coated surfaces (not PVDF), hard PVC plastic, tile, aluminum, zinc-coated sheet metal, and surfaces coated with alkyd and acid-curing paint. Also suitable for wood and metal surfaces in dry interior premises.

Especially smooth and hard substrates indoors.

Waterborne

The surface to be painted must be dry, the ambient temperature at least +8 °C and the relative humidity of air below 80%. A low temperature (approx. +15°C) and higher humidity (50–70 % RH) will lengthen the time paint can be kept open and make application easier.

Clean the surface by removing any dirt and dust. Wash previously painted and surfaces requiring special adhesion with Maalipesu cleaning agent and rinse carefully with water. Sand the surface matte. Remove the sanding dust.

First coat:

Stir Intact Primer carefully before use and thin with water, if necessary. Apply with brush, roller or spray. On large surfaces, it is recommended to first apply the paint with a roller or spray and then level the coat with a brush. We recommend the use of synthetic brushes with multi-branched bristles. The surface can be finished after 5 hours with Intact 8 or Intact 40 finishing paint.

Remove excess paint from tools. Clean tools with water. Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner) is recommended to be used to remove a bit hardened paint.

About a month after painting at the earliest, if necessary: clean the surface using neutral (pH 6–8) dish-washing liquid solution and a soft brush, sponge or cloth. Soiled surfaces can be cleaned with, for example, a cleaning cloth or a sponge using a neutral (pH 8-10) detergent. Rinse the surface carefully.
